After studying the information from our profile and being inspired by the photo, Gardenia decided to choose the card mainly for little Dasha. The drawing is written by Dick Bruna, the famous Dutch children's writer and artist, and the poem is the work of Hans and Monique Hagen, an artist couple, who among other things, write children's poems. The quatrain on the postcard is taken from a poem titled "Maybe an elephant", and can be translated (not in rhyme, of course) like this:
"I hear what you think.
Keep on thinking a little while.
Silent stay sitting by my side,
ear against ear."
Gardenia carefully translated for us every inscription on the back of a card, made in Dutch - I really appreciate such things! The woman summarized her message with wishes of all the best for us and our loved ones! Sincerely grateful!
